The Laurel Leader-Call is the local newspaper serving Laurel and Jones County, Mississippi. It is published on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with an online edition available at leader-call.com. The office is located at 318 N. Magnolia Street in downtown Laurel.
Established in 1911, The Laurel Leader-Call has been a longstanding fixture as the hometown newspaper for over a century. Under various ownerships throughout its history, the Leader-Call returned to its locally-owned roots in 2012. Gin Creek Publishing, known for The ReView of Jones County, acquired the Leader-Call name, subscription list, and began publication under the Leader-Call banner.
In 2013, the Leader-Call garnered national and international attention with their coverage of the "Historic Wedding" story. This was followed by another significant investigative report titled "Kentucky Fried Hoax" in the subsequent year, shedding light on a national news item exposed as a fraudulent scheme.
